Beer Matters - 2019

Ended Mar 10, 2019

Full course description

Calling all craft beer lovers, home brewers and history buffs! Beer Matters is a free online class, open to all. The online class begins January 14, 2019 and will explore beer and brewing from prehistoric times to the present. Lessons will also cover brewing around the globe, as well as beer in America, from Prohibition to the current popularity of craft brewing. The six-week course will be taught by Karl Brown, assistant professor of history at UW-Whitewater and former professional brew master in the U.S. and Europe.

New this year – join the instructor, an archaeologist and local brewing history buff on a virtual expedition for the beer caves from one of Janesville’s historic breweries.

The online course, Beer Matters, is completely free but registration is required.  Lessons are complemented by optional “meet ups” where classmates, the instructor and local brewers come together for in-person discussions.  Visit our website to register for meet ups.
